PURPLE CLAY TEA WARE
The purple clay (Zisha in Chinese) teapot is a unique handcrafted ceramic art piece from China, with its production beginning during the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty. This craft has a history of over 500 years. The clay used for making Yixing teapots, sourced from Yixing in Jiangsu Province, is considered the finest. The clay is categorized into three types: purple clay, green clay, and red clay. Its composition includes kaolin, quartz, and mica, with a high iron content. The firing temperature ranges between 1100-1200 degrees Celsius. The finished Yixing teapot has a water absorption rate of more than 2% and features a unique "double pore" breathable structure. This ensures that the teapot does not absorb the tea's aroma and can maintain the tea's color, aroma, and taste for a longer time.
Moreover, Yixing teapots are not only highly practical but also possess significant artistic and collectible value when crafted by skilled artisans. In recent decades, high-quality Yixing teapots have continuously set new records in value at international art auctions and have been widely recognized and loved by tea enthusiasts around the world.
