Da Hong Pao is one of the precious varieties of Wuyi Rock Tea, belonging to the category of semi-fermented Oolong tea. Originally cultivated on the steep cliffs of Jiulongke in the Tianxin Rock area of Wuyi Mountain, Fujian, the surviving mother trees of Da Hong Pao number only six, with an annual yield not exceeding one kilogram. The Da Hong Pao that we can currently enjoy is derived from these mother trees through asexual reproduction. After evaluation by relevant experts, the cultivated Da Hong Pao retains the excellent characteristics and unique flavor of the original mother trees.
This Da Hong Pao is made by blending several excellent varieties of Wuyi rock tea. The roasting process is expertly done, resulting in dry tea leaves that are plump, dark brown, and glossy. It has a strong floral and nutty aroma. When brewed, the tea soup presents a golden yellow color, with a smooth and rich taste profile that offers multiple layers of flavor. Additionally, it is very durable for multiple infusions.
